Green Homes Grant. What is it?
On July 2020 chancellor Rishi Sunak introduced the Green Homes Grant to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient. It is set to launch in September 2020 under the Green Homes Grant. Home owners on low income and benefits will receive vouchers of up to £10,000 for energy-saving changes to their homes.
The scheme is set to launch in September and the application for the grant has to be made online. Households will then receive vouchers that can be used to have work carried out by accredited partners.
The Green Homes Grants will give homeowners, including owner occupiers and social/private landlords, vouchers to install one or more of the following:
- solid wall, under-floor, cavity wall or roof insulation
- air source or ground source heat pump
- solar thermal
In addition, households can use their voucher for further energy saving measures. These include one or more of the following:
- double or triple glazing/secondary glazing, when replacing single glazing
- upgrading to energy efficient doors
- hot water tank/appliance tank thermostats/heating controls
We are taking details of homeowners and Landlords who want to benefit from the new Government grant scheme. As soon as it launches we will have pre-qualified the people who have registered with us and help organise the grant. We expect demand for Double glazing fitters to overwhelming, so register now so you can have the grant and work done quickly.
